Branding for trades

Branding for home service businesses: look like the company you are

Homeowners judge a contractor by the truck in the driveway, the quote in their inbox and the logo on the website before they judge the work. Tekton builds a simple, consistent brand so your company looks as reliable as it is.

In one line: branding for a home service business means a clear name, a logo that reads on a truck and a phone screen, a fixed colour and type system, and consistent trucks, uniforms, quotes and website, so homeowners trust you before the estimate.

Everywhere your company shows up

One look across the truck, the quote and the website.

A brand earns its value by repeating. We apply it to your trucks, uniforms, estimate templates in Jobber or Housecall Pro, your Google Business Profile and your site, so every touch looks like the same company.

Why does the look of a trades company affect the job?

A stranger lets you into their home on the strength of very little. A clean truck, a legible logo, a tidy quote and a website that matches all say the same thing: this company is organized. Mismatched logos, blurry truck lettering and a quote from a free template say the opposite, however good the tradesperson is.

Good branding also makes a small company look established. It supports the price you quote and makes word of mouth easier, since a neighbour can remember your name and recognize your truck.

What does branding involve for a home service business?

A name and tagline that work out loud

Short, easy to spell and clear about the trade and the area. We test how it sounds on the phone and how it looks on a magnet.

A logo built for trucks and phones

A mark that stays legible at truck size from across a street and at thumbnail size in a Google profile, with versions for light and dark backgrounds.

Colour and type rules

A small palette and two typefaces documented on one page, so a sign maker and an embroiderer and a web developer produce matching work.

Truck, uniform and yard-sign layouts

Files ready for wraps, lettering, shirts, jackets and lawn signs, sized for the printers you use.

Estimate and invoice templates

Your quotes and invoices in your brand, set up in Jobber, Housecall Pro or whatever you run, so paperwork looks as professional as the work.

A photo and voice guide

Direction for photographing finished jobs, plus a few lines on how your company sounds in texts and replies and on the website.

How do we keep branding practical?

We work from your real situation: the trucks you own, the gear you already wear and the budget for signage. A full rebrand is sometimes the right call. Often it is cleaning up an inherited logo and applying it consistently, and we say so when that is the smarter route.

You receive files you own, in the formats a printer or web developer will ask for, plus a one-page guide. No one has to ask us for permission to use your own logo. For a related view, read why a logo is not a brand and how to choose colours and fonts.

What does the process look like?

It starts with a short conversation about your company and your area. We also look at the trucks and gear you already have. We study your competitors in town so the new look stands apart from theirs. Then we present two directions. You choose one and we refine it with you.

Once you approve it, we produce the final files and apply them to the website, the Google profile and your paperwork, and we send layouts to your sign and wrap vendors. You receive a one-page guide so anyone who touches your brand can follow it. We stage the rollout so trucks and uniforms change when it suits your budget, while the digital pieces update right away.

How does this fit the Growth Engine seat?

Branding is one track in the Growth seat and shapes the website, the profile, the reviews and the paperwork. It is usually done at the start of the build, so later work looks consistent. The build is a one-time investment, then the monthly seat. See the packages page.

This is our founding-client guarantee. The monthly seat is waived until the engine produces the agreed number of new tracked enquiries (tracked calls and booking-form requests from the channels we build) within 90 days of go-live. Paid ads are excluded, and you answer or return the calls that come in. The build is paid and yours either way. We never promise rankings or bookings or revenue.

Common questions

Do I need a new logo?

Maybe not. If yours reads well on a truck and a phone, we keep it and build the rest around it.

Who owns the logo files?

You do, once the build is paid. You receive the source files and the brand guide.

Can you handle the truck wrap?

We design the layout and supply print-ready files. The wrap itself is done by your local installer.

Will a new look confuse repeat customers?

We keep the recognizable parts, such as your name and main colour, and change the parts that hurt trust.
