What we offer

Kinds of massage we offer in Burlington

Every session starts with a conversation about what you need that day. These are the ways we commonly work.

Relaxation massage

Slower, lighter work for when the goal is simply to slow down. You set the pace and the pressure.

Deep tissue massage

Firmer, more specific work on the layers underneath. Your therapist checks pressure as they go.

Prenatal massage

Side-lying positioning with cushioned supports, adapted to each stage of pregnancy. Mention it when you book.

Sports massage

Focused work planned around how you train, whether you are building toward an event or just back from one.

Hot stone massage

Warm basalt stones worked into the massage. A slower, warmer session from start to finish.

Cupping

Used within a treatment where it fits. Always explained first, and always your choice.

Insurance

Direct billing, so you pay less at the desk

Massage therapy from a registered massage therapist is covered by most extended health plans. We bill most extended health insurers directly, and the paperwork is usually sorted before you leave the table.

Covered by most plans

Every visit ends with an official receipt from a registered massage therapist. In most cases you only pay the portion your plan does not cover.

Not sure what you have?

Call the clinic and we will help you check your coverage before you book, so there are no surprises at the desk.

Your appointment

What to expect when you come in

A short chat first

Your RMT starts with a brief intake conversation about what is going on and what you want from the session. You agree together on what will be worked on, and nothing happens without your consent.

Tailored on the table

Draping keeps you covered with a sheet and blanket the whole time, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Your therapist checks pressure as they go, and your feedback shapes the session in real time.

Aftercare and rebooking

You finish with simple aftercare notes and your official receipt. If another session would make sense, your therapist explains why, and you can rebook at the desk or online whenever suits you.

Our Burlington clinic1290 Brant St

Stillwater is led by Alicia Moore, a registered massage therapist who opened the clinic on Brant St eight years ago. Four RMTs work here now. You can see the same therapist each visit, and your file follows you if you ever switch.

Weekday appointments run to 8pm, which suits commuters coming off the QEW on the way home. Direct billing is usually sorted before you leave the table, and the room stays quiet the whole hour. No playlist you did not choose, no phone ringing through the wall.

The quietest hour of my month. Alicia checks the pressure as she works and the room feels calm from the moment you walk in. Direct billing meant I only paid a few dollars at the desk, and booking online took about a minute.

Priya S.Burlington · via Google

I hold all my stress in my shoulders and after a desk-heavy month I could barely turn my head. One full session and the range came back.

Common questions

Massage therapy questions, answered plainly

Is massage therapy covered by insurance?

Usually, yes. Most extended health plans cover massage therapy when it is provided by a registered massage therapist. We offer direct billing to most extended health insurers, so in most cases you only pay the portion your plan does not cover. If we cannot bill your plan directly, you leave with an official receipt to submit yourself.

What do I wear during a massage?

Whatever you are comfortable with. Many people undress to their underwear and some stay fully clothed. Either way you are covered by a sheet and blanket the whole time, and only the area being worked on is uncovered. Your therapist leaves the room while you get on and off the table, and nothing happens without your consent.

What is the difference between an RMT massage and a spa massage?

A registered massage therapist is a regulated health professional, so your session starts with a health history and the treatment is planned around what your body needs that day. You also get an official receipt that most extended health plans accept. A spa massage is a relaxation service, and most benefit plans will not reimburse it.

Should I tip my massage therapist?

No. Registered massage therapy is a regulated health service, the same as physiotherapy or dentistry, so tipping is not expected and never required. The price on the session menu is the full price you pay.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or move an appointment. Your appointment time is held just for you, so if something comes up, tell us as early as you can and we will move your booking to a time that works.

Can I book a massage while pregnant?

Yes. Our team includes therapists with additional prenatal massage training. Mention that you are pregnant when you book so we can pair you with the right therapist. During the session you are positioned comfortably on your side with supports, and your therapist adapts the work to how far along you are.

How early should I arrive for my appointment?

About five minutes early is plenty for a return visit. If it is your first appointment, arrive ten minutes ahead to complete the health history form, or fill it in online when you book and arrive as usual. Either way, your therapist walks you through everything before the session starts.

Can I request the same therapist each time?

Yes. When you book online you pick your therapist first and then choose from their available times. If your usual therapist is away, the front desk can book you with another RMT for that visit. Your file stays with the clinic either way, so whoever you see can pick up where the last session left off.

Do you offer massage therapy for teenagers?

Yes. Clients under 18 need a parent or guardian to give consent at the first appointment, and a parent is welcome to stay in the room during the session. Beyond that, the appointment runs like any other, with the same draping and the same check-ins on pressure.
